Cambridge Electric Cement was developed as part of the UK FIRES programme, led by Professor Allwood, which aims to enable a rapid transition to zero emissions based on using today’s technologies differently, rather than waiting for scale deployment of new energy technologies such as hydrogen and carbon capture and storage.
